Adventurus is Latin for “about to happen”  

Today we illuminate
the star from my father’s youth
in anticipation for winter solstice.
As the sun slowly sinks
into the hope of longer days
we snuggle in the star light, waiting.
Waiting for the return of warmth
and light to invigorate our
minds and body, sluggish with sleep.
Today we illuminate our souls.
